Finding Keywords

Niche Keywords: How to Find the Best SEO Keywords for Your Niche

Finding keywords is one of the most important steps to building your Internet marketing business. Before you even start your website or your blog, consider the importance of good keywords. They are the words people use when doing web searches. That fact alone should have you thinking about finding keywords to attract the kind of visitors you plan on targeting for your business or blog. Otherwise, if you just use the hit-or-miss approach, you’ll find yourself missing far too often.

Finding moneymaking keywords is a skill and an art which D’Vaughn Bell can easily teach you along with other techniques for your online business with his free Internet Marketing course.

Finding keywords and using them to promote your blog or website is part of a strategy called SEO or Search Engine Optimization. SEO is a technique used by nearly all successful Internet marketers. It is one of the most dependable ways to make sure the search engines give you a good ranking when someone looks for information or products you may be able to offer them.

And just how important is finding keywords? Consider this example: a person needs information on renovating old cars. You happen to have a website that caters to this need, complete with ebooks for purchase and a blog related to this hobby. Plenty of useful information…but you aren’t using good keywords in your website content. When this person puts a search phrase in Google, it would be blind luck for them to find your website. And without him or her finding your site, you won’t make the sale.

Finding keywords, however, is not hard to do. Before you begin your marketing campaign, but after you’ve decided on the niche you want to work within, take a moment to brainstorm. Come up with a list of as many words and phrases as you can that will describe your intended website content. Add to the list words you think potential customers will use to search for the information and products you will be offering.

The next step is to use one of the keyword tools available on the Internet to test these keywords. Google offers a free one that will give you various statistics on your keywords, including how many people are using them currently. Google’s free keyword tool also provides words and phrases similar to the one you entered, so it will help you in compiling a long list for your use.

Google’s keyword tool is not the only one available, but it is a good free resource. For finding keywords, you can also use WordTracker as another free option. The only drawback to it is that it limits you to only one hundred results in the free version. By paying for the full version, you’ll get more options. Another excellent paid option is a keyword research tool that I personally use and recommend, Micro Niche Finder, this keyword tool is a one-time payment only and pulls data from Google.

As part of your SEO strategy, you will use these keywords to create content that the search engines will pick up when someone uses the same words or phrases to search for information. You should use the most important keyword in the domain name of your website or blog while using other keywords as needed in the rest of the content. Perhaps a keyword itself will suggest an article or blog post to write.

Along with finding keywords and using them to write good content, you also have to keep your website or blog updated with new information. SEO will not work if the search engines see that your site hasn’t been touched in months. All the good keywords in the world won’t help if Google thinks your website is dead.

Make your website easy to read. Break up blocks of text with shorter paragraphs, bullet points, and subheadings. It should be easy for a visitor to scan and find information as well as the product descriptions and reviews you post to help your marketing. Don’t forget to add a site map as your website grows so that new visitors can easily find your older postings.

By following these simple guidelines along with valuable experience, you will become an expert in not only finding keywords but using them to your advantage. This will boost your sales much faster compared to Internet marketers who don’t take full advantage of them.
